3 Ways of Removing Urine From a Dog’s Bed
You can get rid of urine stains not in one or two ways but three ways. I have covered three tricks on how you can get rid of not just the stain but also from the smell too!
Sounds interesting, isn’t it?
1. With Baking soda and Vinegar
Pat and dry the affected areas
If your dog has peed in his bed, then you should be able to identify all the nasty spots. It might not be easy to detect at first. But, simply by buying our smelling sense organ, we can detect the spots. I know it’s gross! But, you can easily detect it.
Once you have identified the location, pat and dry the area with the help of a sponge or paper towel, however, toilet paper won’t be a great idea because there is a chance that it might tear out.
Remember, you don’t have to rub the stain dry because this spread the urine more. And, make sure to give as much pressure as possible. Put force till it gets almost dry.
Clean it with baking soda and vinegar
Once you are done with patting and drying, it’s time to clean the affected area well. There is a lot of product range already available in the market you can buy stain removers to get rid of it. But, I usually go with home remedies because it is cost-effective and non-toxic for the environment and for my pooch too!
The most popular and effective way is using baking soda and vinegar it is all-time life savior.
You have to make a mixture of vinegar and baking soda to clean the urine spots given by your pooch. It is a deadly combination that works perfectly well because a dog’s urine has acidic and alkaline properties, and the mixture of vinegar and baking soda is naturally acidic.
You have to mix baking soda in vinegar to make this versatile mixture. The amount directly depends on how big the dog urine stain is. A combination of this two will aid in controlling the awful smell, and you can also get rid of stains without using any harsh chemicals.
After baking soda is dissolved, transfer the mixture to a spray bottle for convenient application. Splash this homemade solution on stains. After that, let it dry now. You might need to repeat this process of spraying and drying till the stain and the smell has vanished.
You must resist the temptation to rub the spots after spraying!
If you are not satisfied with this method then don’t worry we have other alternatives too!
2. With some juicy lemons
Let’s try some juicy trick!
Dry Dry Dry
The first step is to dry down all the urine spots with the help of a sponge or toilet paper.
Use fresh lemon juice
It is one of the old and popular home remedies used by many pet parents. Why using lemons? Because lemon juice is acidic in nature, it helps to remove the odor and replace it with a fresh lemon smell.
The use of lemon juice as stain remover comes with two benefits first, to vanish stains (of course); secondly, it works as a good repellent for those dogs with a habit of peeing on their bed. You just have to squeeze lemon juice on the stain or mix it with water for the application. You can splash this just like the vinegar and baking soda solution.
Another method is that you can damp the stains and rub a lemon on it.
Still, not satisfied with this trick? No worries we have one more option too!
3. With Hydrogen peroxide
The first step of this process is similar to the other tricks you have to dry the stains with a paper towel or sponge. And, then make a mixture of regular old soap with hydrogen peroxide.
You have to take a small spoon of soap along with the solution of hydrogen peroxide. Now, stir the mixture uniformly till it is mixed thoroughly.
Now apply this mixture of soap and hydrogen peroxide to the affected area with the help of a damp cloth and then wait till it gets dry.
Make sure to cover all the stains. Like the above two methods in this, you may have to repeat the process a few times.
